The first and most important event for the day was to see VA off at the airport. We thoroughly enjoyed those days we got to spend time with VA while she was here. Till now, I still can’t believe I am going to have her as my sister, for real!! Beautiful bride-to-be, we will be counting down for your return in November! We are already missing you so much!
We rushed straight to Meadows @ Pierce after the farewell, for baby Jia Ci’s one year old birthday party. There, we met several friends (Melissa, Lester, Isaac and Lauren; Dr Chin and his Mrs; Victor, Elaine, and of course James and Kathy) and are very thankful for the blessed time to catch up with one another!
James and Kathy specially ordered a rainbow jelly cake for their daughter, it was so pretty and adorable we couldn’t bear seeing it being sliced up! The last minute Thai food they catered was delicious! However, J had to attend a wedding dinner at Capella, Sentosa the same night, so we bade farewell to everyone and off we rushed again! It was an eventful day! Baby E knocked out after we reached home!

We finally met up with 姑妈 and 姑丈 at SY’s place. The last time we visited them in the house was during 姑妈’s 70th birthday, which was in 2012. We were very thankful to be granted the opportunity to catch up with them again. It was also Baby E’s first time seeing her collateral cousins (also known as 2nd cousins to her), 5 of them to be exact – 4 boys + 1 girl!
Baby E is very fortunate to receive hand-me-downs from her only female 2nd cousin – brand new board books, apparel, etc. In addition, 姑妈 and SY also gave her “Ang Pows” and a present. How blessed our little one is!

J started his conference leave today, so we actually had a long weekend! Today is also the day he will fly to Athens for an important spine conference. As the wheels of his American Tourister are already faulty and do not roll smoothly, we decided to do some last minute shopping!
Off to IMM we went to look for a new hand luggage for this trip! After considering Eminent vs Samsonite vs American Tourister, we eventually decided on the latter, for its affordability, spacious compartments and perfect size!
When we reached home, we witnessed how one of the fish in our apartment’s Koi pond was stuck within a submerged vase. We stood there watching, hoping that it would flip itself out of danger. However, after what-seems-like-forever, the fish seemed to be fatigued and was becoming restless, compassionate J went off and returned with a long pole to lend the fish a helping hand! Just one flick, the fish was saved! That day, I saw the heroic side of J, and we cheered and wow’ed upon his gallant act. In his usual cool front, he smiled and simply shrugged 😉
The rainbow we saw today was a bonus – the perfect end to our remarkable long weekend!
Dear Heavenly Father, may You bless J with a fruitful time in Athens, learning new techniques and skills required for the work You have called him to do. May You grant him insight as he explores the historical city of Athens, in relation to Acts 17:16-34. I pray that You will protect him from harm and grant him journey mercies as well as full recovery from the flu. I pray all these in the Name of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Amen.
O’ Lord, to everyone who reads the following verses, may You open their minds and soften their hearts, and grant them understanding of Your Word:
“God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. Nor is He worshiped with men’s hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things. And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’ Therefore, since we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, something shaped by art and man’s devising. Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.” (Acts 17:24-31 NKJV)
