Today is the day J returns from Athens! Baby E and I were stoked as we made our way to the airport to pick him up! It seemed to have been so long, we have been missing him so so much! Well, the feeling was mutual! Look at that hug! J loves Baby E so very much!
We had an early dinner at Poulét, in the Level 4 Viewing Mall within Changi Airport Terminal 3. It was our first time trying this contemporary French-themed bistro that offers affordable French cuisine to the mass public. This branch at the airport is currently their newest addition.
Poulét sports a contemporary interior design furnished with wooden tables and modern classic chairs. I particularly liked the classic street lamp posts that add to the aesthetics of the restaurant. Amidst the casual comfy vibe, we were also able to view the chefs in action through an open concept kitchen.
Dishing out from the kitchen came our appetizer – French Onion Soup ($5.90), which we shared because J was not really hungry after he had his 3-course meal on-flight. The flavourful soup was rich in taste, and had caramelised onions and croutons served together in the fond de Veau. Their signature dish is known as Poulet Roti ($15.90 for half or $28.90 for whole), a roast chicken in a creamy mushroom Chardonnay sauce. No wonder it is the star dish of the restaurant, we simply loved it! The chicken was so tender and moist, the sauce was heavenly! Wished there were more greens tossed into the delicious creamy sauce though! The last dish we savoured was a new promotional item Halibut en Papilotte ($17.90). A slab of halibut fillet served with asparagus, carrots and mushrooms in a white wine sauce, enveloped and baked in parchment paper. This dish tasted very light compared to their signature roast chicken. Although still tasty, it was not really what we have expected. We will give this a miss next time, and would probably order a whole Poulet Roti to share. Or, we would order other dishes to try for sure. Thus, we will certainly revisit Poulét again!
