Today I thought I’d blog about J’s weekend, because he had a much more interesting and eventful weekend than me. I am very proud of J for being the co-chairman of the inaugural international conference on minimally invasive Micro-Incision Surgery (MIS) of the Spine, organized by the Departments of Neurosurgery and Orthopaedic Spine Surgery in Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, Singapore.
The 2-day conference was successfully held in National University Hospital in Singapore, and was attended by several international delegates. Today was the day during which the conference dinner was held at the Triple-Three Restaurant in Mandarin Orchard Hotel. At the dinner, I am thankful and appreciate the given opportunity to get to know the spouses of the attending delegates, and had a great time chatting with them throughout the entire course of dinner.
Dear Lord, I pray that You will bless J with a compassionate heart and alert mind that will remain focused on the tasks that You have set out for him to accomplish each day. Strengthen his arms that they remain steady and not grow weary even with how long and tedious the many surgeries can be on some days. May You bless his thoughts with integrity and wisdom and let him voice it with softness, for words spoken gently carry more strength than when spoken out loud. Bless his heart with perseverance and help him with time management to accomplish all his tasks in a fruitful manner.
O’ Lord, please also make him appreciate his responsibilities more, that he may continue to work hard and be better than he was, for the sake of giving You all the glory due to You alone. Most of all please bless his spirit that he will remain light-hearted, joyfully completing everything that needs to be done. And as night falls, may You please bless his soul that he remains tranquil and at peace as he lays his work-weary head down to sleep.
