Our Love for Mountains (or Hills)

We went running up Mt. Faber via Telok Blangah Hill and the Henderson Waves that bridges the two hills today. We decided to do so after we dropped by our HDB flat to let our tenants sign the lease extension form. Since we were in the vicinity, we just had to revisit the ruling route which we once loved so much.

I took Little E for the first leg of the run, up the Hilltop Walk all the way to Mt. Faber, while J completed an extra kilometre round Telok Blangah Hill towards the Forest Walk. We have set to meet each other by the Marang Trail on top of Mt. Faber, after which J took over the pram and ran with Little E in it for the second leg of our trail run.

I caught up with J and Little E at the Henderson Waves, then we walked down Telok Blangah together, completing our 7 km hill-run.

That was Little E attempting to high-five me from her pram as J strolled her down the slope. She sat in her pram throughout our 45 min run up and down the hill. What a bliss! We can’t wait for her to grow up, so that she can run with us!

Since we became a couple, we have always loved the mountains, the hills, and not so much of beaches. Regardless if we are hiking one, or just admiring the peaks from a distance, we are awed by its majesty and the beauty of nature. Our love for the mountains had us thinking how much more majestic and beautiful God is, for He is the Creator, the Author of salvation, the Beginning and the End, etc. He is the God who moves mountains. He is the Lord of all.

God is awesome! Thine, O Lord is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is Thine; Thine is the kingdom, O Lord, and Thou art exalted as Head above all. (1 Chronicles 29:11)
