It is J’s birthday today! Before we slept last night, I placed his birthday gift with an accompanying card I made myself under his pillow, to surprise him when he wakes up this morning or in the middle of the night should he fumble upon it in his sleep. =D
We had his birthday breakfast at La Scala restaurant within Royal Plaza Hotel. We took our time and allowed Little E to enjoy her mini buffet breakfast as well!
With our tummies filled and rounded, we shopped in Moko mall which was connected to La Scala at level 2 of the hotel. There were many upmarket as well as high street fashion apparel stores in Moko, reminiscent of Singapore’s Takashimaya. We eventually ended up in the level 3 playground for the sake of Little E. She deserved it, for being a really good girl who not only is so sweet, and lovable, she was also the best toddler to travel with!
After all, in his own words, her joyful smile is the greatest gift that J could ever ask for on his birthday. I am truly blessed with a husband who is outstanding yet humble, loving and supportive, who is also an awesome father to our little one.
After a purposeful play out in the large playground, we returned to our room for a catnap, particularly for Little E, so that she would be well-rested for the flight home later. We took a cab and reached the airport with ample time to spare, so we chilled out as we tucked into the most delicious (in our opinions) roasted duck we have ever had! Hmmm.. thinking of it now sees me drooling by my bedside as I typed this…
Although we had a very eventful vacation in Hong Kong that was filled with fun and love, we were more than glad to fly home today! The 3.20 pm flight worked out great for us as Little E napped for 2 hrs on the flight home! We reached home to be greeted with catered tingkat food as a simple meal that helped normalise our palates, for we have had so much rich (taste-wise) food in HK as well as on the planes during this trip. The homely fare was a perfect meal to end off this most blessed day → To be home safe and sound, rejuvenated after a holiday break from the mundane routine we had been indulging ourselves in since we last travelled in February.
Dear gracious Lord, thank You for giving us the privilege to come to Your throne of grace anytime, anywhere. Today, I would like to pray for my beloved husband whom You have blessed me with, for it is His birthday. I pray that J loves you with all his heart, mind and strength, that he delights in Your law and that You would open his eyes to the truths in Your Word. Guide Him please, O’ Lord, to walk by the strength of Your spirit and keep Him in constant communion with You.
Give him the desire to please You in all things and give him the endurance to run the race You have set before him. May he have wisdom and strength to lead our family in Your ways and continue to help him manage his time well with all the various tasks You have given him to take care of in the day.
May he always have an eternal perspective on the gifts You have given us to be used to further Your kingdom and that we would not build treasures on earth but in heaven. May You surround him with other men who love You truly and deeply and will be an encouragement to him in his walk with You.
I thank you Lord for J and pray that I would truly do him good all the days of his life and be a good helpmeet to my beloved husband.
I ask these things in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.
Blessed Birthday my dearest J! Oh how I love love love you!
