Since young, my father has always been the one I run to when there is trouble. Instead of reprimanding me immediately, he would always listen first to understand and empathise, before he acts accordingly. Naturally, even till present, there is no hesitation on my part to approach him for help whenever necessary, although nowadays, the problems I face are really menial.
In a previous blogpost, I journaled how my father was eager to help us when Little E’s doll house fell apart. Yesterday, we ran into an unfortunate glitch in our daily routine, as one of the front wheels has dislodged from its socket, rendering the stroller purposeless. I managed to reach home with Little E nonetheless.
I called my father and told him about the problem and he turned up at our door today, with all the necessary tools required to fix the problem.
Little E was more than delighted as usual to see her 公公. Let’s just say she was all enthusiastic to assist 公公 in any way, from picking the screws, to holding the pivoting pencil for 公公 to twirl and fasten the vinyl tape.
They make a great team. Hee!
